The big day is finally here! Bringing our first title to life alongside Lucasfilm Games and Electronic Arts has been an incredible experience for everyone at Bit Reactor. This game has been a passion project for our entire team, and we hope that passion comes through as you step into Star Wars Zero Company.
When this game was first pitched to Vince Zampella all those years ago, I was not expecting Star Wars. We always wanted existing IP, but Star Wars was not on our bingo card until Vince gave us this incredible opportunity. He had the vision and conviction to let us pursue this game, and now we have a finished Star Wars tactics game that we couldn’t be more proud to share with all of you.
Our mission was clear: To push the strategy genre forward and explore how one of the biggest franchises in the world could help us redefine what a modern strategy game can be, while creating an experience that welcomes players of all kinds. At its heart, this is a story about a group of people facing insurmountable odds and finding a way to overcome them. That’s exactly where Star Wars shines.
I recently revisited our original pitch, and it’s remarkable to see how closely Star Wars Zero Company reflects what we set out to create from both a gameplay and thematic perspective. The Clone Wars era gave us the perfect opportunity to tell a fresh story with an entirely new cast of characters, while still embracing the elements that make Star Wars so familiar and beloved.
If you’re a big fan of Star Wars, you’ll feel some of the deep cuts we’ve added in there. If you’re a newcomer, we hope this world welcomes you to an exhilarating part of the Star Wars universe and makes you want to explore deeper.
We’ve had a great time working with the teams at Lucasfilm Games and EA over the past few years. They are a special band of people who love Star Wars as much as we do. Together, we’ve crafted an amazing game that combines the strategic depth of the tactics genre with the universal storytelling capabilities of Star Wars. Your experience with the characters and the bonds you forge are unique to your playthrough. This is your Star Wars game, this is your story. Thank you for having us along for the ride.
